Mom's Homemade Granola

This weeks’ recipe is brought to you by Jessica Sykes, RMT.

I love granola! It is so easy to make and what I like most, is that you can make a lot at one time and store it in an air tight container. This is something I enjoy every morning for breakfast with some plain yogurt, any fruit that I have around the house (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.), some strawberry jam and of course, granola! Here is the recipe!

In a bowl, mix together oats, flax seed, sliced almonds, whole almonds, cinnamon and honey. These are the ingredients I stick to, however you can always add your favourite nuts to the mix as well.

Mix it all together and then place on a baking sheet. Place the mixture in the oven and bake at 200° for about an hour or until lightly browned. You’ll notice there are no exact measurements for this recipe. I just eyeball how much of each ingredient to put in depending on the size of batch I want to make.

Enjoy!
