Live Life - Eat Brownies!

Who doesn't love a brownie?  The chocolate goodness, gooey texture and divine taste. You’re probably wondering why I would share such an unhealthy item on a nutrition blog.  It is true I do want you to eat clean and healthy everyday - but you know what - you still have to live your life.  Treating yourself and others to something absolutely delicious every once in awhile is okay.  When you indulge in something - you want it to be worth it!  This weekend, show your family some love with this delicious brownie treat!

There are ways to indulge without totally jeopardizing your healthy habits. There are so many healthy ingredients that can be used as alternatives when baking or cooking. When treating yourself, try to choose amazing whole food products to use.  Things like white sugar, additives, etc. are things your body just does not need.

Brownie recipes are great for experimenting with healthier ingredients without sacrificing the taste.  Below, I have provided two recipes.  The first one uses white sugar and tons of butter.  Of course they are delicious, but I always try and steer clear of white sugar especially with our kids.  The second recipe is an example of how you can change a few ingredients to make a healthier option that still tastes great!  There are many brownie recipes out there that use healthier ingredients.  If you have one, share it with us!
