A Simple Perspective On Food That Will Take The Stress Out Of Healthy Eating

What should I be eating? Should I eat bread? What’s the difference between organic and regular fruits and veggies? What type of protein is best? Where do you do your shopping? What do you feed your kids? What type of protein and supplements do I need?  How do I lose 20 pounds?  Why isn’t the weight coming off?

I hear these questions and concerns daily.   And with the all the nutrition information floating around on the internet these days, I don’t blame any of you for being confused!  It can be easy to get caught up in the latest hype and jump on board with some crazy diet train - just to end up right back where you started. However, these above questions are all very common and honest concerns.  I’m here to help simplify your perspective on food so you can focus on the joy of living a healthy lifestyle. I want you to feel great, reach your goals, and be able to maintain this feeling for life!

My analogy for you is simple:  Food as Fuel.

Just like our cars, our bodies need fuel to function.  What we use to fuel our bodies, will directly determine how we feel, and perform.  Eating clean (eliminating processed foods and additives), is the best way to fuel our bodies; it’s like putting premium fuel in your car.  When eating healthy foods we can move better, think clearly, and function properly.  A cookie might taste great while eating it, but after the fact an apple will make us feel much better and give us more energy.

We take great pride in our vehicles and are mindful of what we put in them, if they get broken we fix them and we take them out for drives so they don't seize up. Sometimes we care more about what goes in our cars than what goes in our bodies. Fuel drives your car, but what about what drives your body?  Your car may be a form of transportation, but your body is what ULTIMATELY DRIVES YOU!

Take a moment to think about that. If we are mindful of what and how much we put in our bodies we are going to take much better care of ourselves. Everyday is a new chance to start making the right choices!  Choose your best FUEL every chance you get.

Here is one of my favourite ways to fuel my body...
